Of the 189 drivers who have won a race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, only a fraction have picked up a victory in their final season of competition in the series.

Matt Kenseth became the 18th driver of that exclusive club when he won his second-to-last confirmed start in the series at Phoenix Raceway last month. Kenseth was driving the No. 20 car for Joe Gibbs Racing.

According to research on the Racing Reference database, three past champions—Bobby Allison, Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart—have accomplished the feat in the sport’s 69-year history.

For six drivers—Marvin Burke, Mark Donohue, Dick Passwater, Jim Roper, Frankie Schneider and Chuck Stevenson—the victory was their lone career win.
