KANSAS CITY—With six races left in the 2015 Sprint Cup season, Justin Allgaier has yet to finalize a Sprint Cup ride for 2016. Yet, the driver talked Friday with The Racing Experts about the dynamics of racing at Kansas Speedway.

“I think, here in Kansas, it’s obviously very interesting. This is a very fast racetrack; relatively new surface compared to a lot of the racetracks we go to. Last year, we saw a lot of moving around, lot of three-wide action, guys up against the fence.”

After placing 31st in the first practice session Friday, Allgaier qualified 30th for Sunday’s race. In Saturday’s second and final practice sessions, Allgaier placed 24th and 30th respectively.

Allgaier weighed in about replacing Sam Hornish Jr. at Richard Petty Motorsports in 2016.

“Negative,” Allgaier said. “Definitely working on 2016, but nothing at this point is officially official or finalized or anywhere close to that manner. Still working on trying to get everything figured out.”

Allgaier also talked about his future in Sprint Cup.

“There’s a lot of options,” he said. “…No matter what happens, that’s been really cool for me. A lot of people have reached out, asking if they can help in any way.”
