Trevor Bayne will enter next weekend’s race at Darlington Speedway with the longest top-10 streak of his career in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
Bayne has finished inside the top 10 in the last two races; finishing fifth and seventh at Michigan and Bristol respectively.
What has been the difference for him and his No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team?
“Just execution,” Bayne said. “I feel like the last month we had strategy, things went our way and we’ve gotten results from it.”
In the past two races, Bayne has found himself running inside the top 10 late in each race.
At Michigan, Bayne used pit strategy to earn a top-five finish.
At Bristol, Bayne overcame a blown tire to earn his second consecutive top-10 finish.
With two races before the playoffs begin, Bayne is 19th in driver’s standings, 230 points behind the final playoff-eligible position.
Bayne must win at Darlington or Richmond to qualify for the playoffs.
