AVONDALE, Ariz.—Sitting inside the Chase cutoff three races into the Sprint Cup season, Ryan Blaney and Austin Dillon talked about their starts to the 2016 season season Friday.
Blaney, one of five rookie drivers this season, sits 14th in points, seven points above the Chase cutoff.
“We have been fast all year,” he said to The Racing Experts in a press conference. “All three races this year we have had a good race car. The finishes haven't really showed that.”

Blaney credited the relationship he has with Team Penske teammates Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano to his start to the 2016 season.
“We have a really great relationship with the 2 and 22 and they have been really helpful with us and Brad and Joey have been really helpful to me too,” he said. “That has really helped our success. I think it will get better and better with this team working together. “We brought in some new personnel at the beginning of the year with this 21 team and I think that just gets better with time. As we get some races under our belt I think we will just get better and better.”
Dillon sits ninth in points three races into 2016, the highest the driver has ever ranked at this point in any season.
Additionally, Dillon has scored two top-ten finishes in the season’s first three races and sits 24 points above the Chase cutoff.
“Hard work in the off season is one thing,” Dillon said to The Racing Experts. “I think if you look back to last year, we have kind of had this streak going to the end of last year.
