LAS VEGAS—The hometown hero closed the deal in Las Vegas.
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team owner and driver Kyle Busch came away victorious in the Stratosphere 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday night, leading the final 15 laps en route to his 50th win in the series.
“It means a lot,” Busch said post-race. “We’ve had some great runs in the races that we’ve had at Kyle Busch Motorsports. We’ve raced and won all across the country, but I’ve just never been able to get back to Las Vegas to run a race.
“This one’s pretty cool to be able to win in the hometown and finish my list of Truck Series facilities that I’ve raced at and I’ve won at.”
Busch led the most laps among the competition, leading six times for a total of 55 laps.
Busch has now won at least one Truck Series race in the last six seasons.
Johnny Sauter finished second, Brett Moffitt finished third, Grant Enfinger was fourth and Stewart Friesen finished fifth.
Noah Gragson won Stage 1 and Stewart Friesen won Stage 2.
Fourteen drivers finished on the lead lap.
Sauter unofficially has a 39-point lead over Moffitt leaving Las Vegas.
The Truck Series is back in action at Martinsville Speedway for the Alpha Energy Solutions 250, Mar. 24, on FOX Sports 1.
