MIAMI—NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Austin Cindric will compete for his first title this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The Ohio-native has been doing everything he can to prepare for Friday night’s Championship run, despite having never raced at the South Florida speedway.

However, the driver of the No. 19 Draw-Tite/Reese Brands Toyota is no stranger to getting the hang of new tracks.

In a playoff format where experience means everything, it very well could come down to previous exposure at the 1.5-mile speedway that could ultimately win the title.

“I’ve been in that scenario before this year, trying to figure out race tracks on the fly. It’s a part of my job and it’s a part of what I love to do,” Cindric said.

“I’ve been on a simulator. Spent a lot of time on there. Spent a lot of time watching past races. Actually was over in the green room watching the 2013 race watching Blaney come up the field on new tires. It’s getting as much information as you can and talk to as many people as you can.”

Austin Cindric, in his rookie season, has recorded 15 top-10 finishes and seven top fives in 2017.
