I know what you might be thinking:  “Danica Patrick, a threat? That’s a good one!” But think about it for a second. Danica has had a top 5 finish and three top-10 runs in her limited schedule, 25-race career. She finished 26th in the final driver standings in 2011 and has drastically improved from 2010.

This upcoming season, Danica will be racing in a few Sprint Cup races which could turn into experience in the Nationwide Series. Attempting the Daytona 500 with long time backer GoDaddy.com, Danica can only get better.

If you look back at Danica’s 2011 season, her best races came at superspeedways and some of the cookie-cutter race tracks. She finished fourth at Las Vegas on March, a major improvement from wrecking out in the 2010 event. Remember Daytona in July? She was leading with just laps remaining but victory just slipped out of reach.  She’s arguably the best female driver to ever hit the sport.

Although Danica has never won in NASCAR, she has won in the IndyCar series and remains the only female driver to win a NASCAR or IndyCar-sanctioned race. For all of the critics, she has only been racing in NASCAR for a mere two year. She needs a chance to shine. She may not crack the top-10 in points, but I believe she will finally get that elusive first win in 2012.
