Brent Dewar named President of NASCAR

Brent Dewar has been named the President of NASCAR, the sanctioning body announced today, effective immediately.

Dewar will work with the France family and Vice Chairman Mike Helton on “continued collaboration with key industry leaders.”

“Brent has helped lead a cultural transformation at NASCAR,” said Brian France, Chairman and CEO of NASCAR, in a press release. “...I couldn’t be more thrilled about the impact Brent has had on our industry and I am confident he will continue to help serve and grow our sport for many years to come.”

According to NASCAR, Dewar becomes the fourth president of the sport in its 69-year history.

Prior to being tapped as president of the sport, Dewar worked as the Chief Operating Officer for NASCAR. IMAGES NASCAR Media Group
