DOVER, Del.—Austin Dillon will start today’s Apache Warrior 400 at Dover International Speedway 13th in points, tied with with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Dillon is on the verge of elimination, however, remained positive.

“We’re on the verge of transferring too so it’s a good position to be in,” Dillon said to The Racing Experts prior to the start of the Cup Series race Sunday.

“We know what we have to do to make our destiny and we’re going to get after it today and give the best run we can give and hopefully that will take us to the next round.”

Dillon won the Coca-Cola 600 earlier this year to lock himself into the playoffs.

“It felt really good, I’ll never forget that moment,” Dillon said. “Being at my home track there at Charlotte, I’m pretty proud of that and we just want to keep continuing our legacy by running good and winning races.”

Dillon’s best finish at Dover came in October of 2016 where he finished eighth.
