BRISTOL, Tenn. – The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Flash Flood Watch for all of East Tennessee, including the Bristol Motor Speedway, that is set to begin at 2:00 P.M. E.T. and last through Sunday afternoon.
The watch states one to three inches of rainfall will be common across the area with localized amounts exceeding four inches of rainfall.
The continuous rainfall will soak the ground and along with some heavy rains, this could lead to flooded roadways, and some small rivers and streams.
At the time of publication, the NWS calls for a 100 percent chance of rain during the day on Sunday, decreasing to a 60 percent chance during the night on Sunday.
Most of the rain will be gone by Monday, as the NWS gives the area a 30 percent chance of rain during the day and a 10 percent chance at night.
