LONG POND, Pa.—Sunday's Pocono 400 was the last race Patrick Donahue sat atop the pit box for Gray Gaulding this season. Doug George will probably be the new BK Racing crew chief for the No. 23 team, according to team owner Ron Devine.

“Unfortunately, this was my last race with my crew chief, Patrick,” Gaulding said to The Racing Experts. “...It’s just one of the deals,”

“It’s nothing between me and him. I guess the team and him didn’t really get off on the right foot.”

Gaulding has competed in 13 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races this season, with Donahue serving as crew chief for all of them. His best finish was 20th at Talladega Superspeedway last month.

Donahue joined BKR at the start of 2015 as Jeb Burton’s crew chief. He has also been the race caller for J.J. Yeley, Josh Wise, and David Ragan during his tenure with the organization.

George was a crew chief with ThorSport Racing in the Camping World Truck Series the last two years (Johnny Sauter in 2015 and Rico Abreu for all but final four races in 2016). He ended last year with Ryan Truex at Hattori Racing. IMAGES Daniel Courson/The Racing Experts SOURCES
