Gaunt Brothers Racing and D.J. Kennington are hoping to attempt the Bristol Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race in April, depending on how sponsorship for the race plays out.

“We’re planning on Bristol if we can put everything together,” Kennington told The Racing Experts.

“Money makes you go fast and we can use any help we can get but, we’ve got great supporters that help us now, we just need a few more.”

The team has attempted two races this season; the season-opening Daytona 500 and at ISM Raceway last Sunday.

Kennington says GBR currently has six cars in the fleet and three full-time employees.

At season’s end, the team is looking to have attempted one-third of the schedule.

“We’re hoping for 12, that’s a hope, but we’ll have to take it one race at a time,” Kennington said.

Kennington and the team’s best finish in 2018 was a 24th-place showing at the Daytona 500.
