It took six races, but Noah Gragson is now a winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season.
Gragson led the final six laps of 37 Kind Days 250 at Kansas Speedway Friday, passing Myatt Snyder after a cycle of green flag pit stops.
“First win of the year and we’re going to the playoffs and I can tell you there’s going to be a lot more wins this year with this group behind me,” Gragson said. “We had solid pit stops all day.”
Gragson swept victories in the first two stages, earning a maximum poitns. The Kyle Busch Motorsports driver led the most laps in the race, the first time in his career he had done so in the Truck Series.
The victory was Gragson’s second career win in the series and third top-five finish of 2018.
Rounding out the top five were Gragson’s teammate and boss Kyle Busch in second, Stewart Friesen, John Hunter Nemechek and Johnny Sauter.
Sauter and Brett Moffitt are other Truck Series regulars who have won this season and currently hold the top playoff-eligible positions.
The next race for the series is the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway next Friday night.
