AVONDALE, Ariz.—Four races into the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, Kevin Harvick continues to lead the competition in stage points.
Harvick earned a total of 13 stage points in the Ticket Guardian 500 at ISM Raceway, bringing his 2018 total to 53.
Kurt Busch has the second-most amount of stage points with 42 with Brad Keselowski having the third most at 41. The top-three drivers are comprised of Ford drivers.
Three drivers earned stage points for the first time this season at ISM Raceway (Ty Dillon (1); Kasey Kahne, (2); Erik Jones, (1)).
In total, 23 competitors have earned stage points this season.
With the exception of the Coca-Cola 600 in May, every points-paying race in 2018 is broken up into three stages.
Each of the first two stages pays out points to the top-10 finishing drivers. A first-place finish gets 10 points, second-place gets nine points, and so forth.
Harvick has won three stages, the most among the competition.
Kurt Busch has won two stages; one at Daytona and the other at ISM Raceway.
Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski have each won a stage this year.
