Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced Wednesday via the Quality Value Convenience Channel his paint scheme for his final Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Earnhardt Jr. will pay tribute to the paint scheme he used at the start of his NASCAR premier series career when he drove the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. The one-time paint scheme will run at the season finale race in November.
During a show on QVC, Earnhardt Jr. commented on his thoughts about the car.
“This is going to be a car that already means an incredible amount to me,” Earnhardt Jr. said.
“But being that this will be the last race, it’s going to mean more, so [the diecast is] something I want to have around and have out on the mantle to showcase to my friends and family.”
Earnhardt Jr. ran the paint scheme from 1999 to 2000, winning twice with it during his rookie campaign in 2000.
