KANSAS CITY, Kan.—With a third place effort in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, Kyle Busch isn’t ready to hit cruise control.
Busch led one lap in Sunday’s race, running a majority of the race inside the top-ten. Busch enters next Saturday night’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway second in points with a 19 point advantage on the cutoff.
“I don't think there's any less pressure,” Busch said of his point cushion with two races left before the Eliminator Round. “You can have any issue like these guys all had any week.”
When pressed, Busch did not say his finish Sunday relieves pressure on this round of the Chase.
“It’s early, anything can happen,” he said. "I can go next week and have the same issues. We can have something other than what they had happen to us and put us in a bad spot.
“We just don't need that. We just need to go next week, have a good week at Charlotte, finish top-ten, top-five if we can, and take a win.”
