With 15 races complete in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, we’ve seen various leaders emerge every week. In total, 33 drivers have led at least one lap this season.
Furthermore, 11 drivers have led at least 100 laps. Through the first 15 races, we take a look at the ten drivers who have led the most laps.
1) Martin Truex Jr. (938)
Truex has led at least one lap in 11 races this season.
The Furniture Row Racing driver claimed two victories in 2017 at Las Vegas and Kansas. At Las Vegas, he led 150 laps enroute to victory lane, edging out Kyle Larson with wins in all three stages. Truex drove to his second win of the year at Kansas, leading 104 laps.
2) Kyle Busch (743)
Busch remains winless in 2017 despite leading a combined total of 743 laps this season.
Busch has led the most laps in four races, and has finished in second place twice, including a runner-up showing in the Coca-Cola 600.
3) Kyle Larson (712)
Larson has led at least one lap in 10 races this season, leading the most laps in four events.
Despite a race-high 247 laps led at Dover, Larson bounced back two races later, leading 96 laps at Michigan to claim his second victory of the season.
4) Kevin Harvick (514)
Harvick remains winless thus far in 2017, but led a race-high 292 laps at Atlanta in March.
The 2014 champion has led laps in eight races this season.
5) Brad Keselowski (386)
Keselowski has lead 386 laps across nine races this season, claiming two wins. His victory at Martinsville was the first for Team Penske at the speedway in 13 years.
6) Joey Logano (250)
Logano opened the season by leading laps in nine of the first ten races, including the 25 laps he led at Richmond en route to his lone victory of 2017.
Logano has not led a lap in the last five races.
7) Ryan Blaney (243)
Blaney has led laps in four races this season, including a race-high 148 laps at Texas. He claimed the first win of his career after leading the last 10 laps at Pocono earlier this month.
