While some NASCAR Sprint Cup veterans may not know where or if they will be driving in 2015, Casey Mears knows he will continue to pilot the No. 13 Chevrolet for Germain Racing.

Mears, currently 24th in points, will remain the driver for the single-car operation through at least 2015.

“Right now, I’m good through ’15,” Mears said to The Racing Experts earlier in the week. “We’ve discussed further, and it all depends on what the team and Geico can put together.”

Mears has driven for Germain Racing since August 2010, and statistically has shown strides of improvement each season.

During his tenure with the organization, Mears has scored three top-ten finishes including a fourth place effort at Daytona in July.

The team has run under three manufacturers, including their first year with Chevrolet this season. But with a technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing, and an average finish of 20.9 through 21 races, Mears said his team continues to work hard to make progress with on-track performance.

“We’re solid through next year,” Mears said. “Everyone’s just keeping their heads down and trying to improve the program and get better.”
