Kyle Busch will attempt to win his second title in three years this season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.
Busch won two races during the regular season at Pocono Raceway (July) and Bristol Motor Speedway (August). He will begin the playoffs as the third seed with 2,029 total points.
“We’ve been real fast all year long,” Busch said. “Arguably the 78 (Martin Truex Jr.), not arguably. The 78 has been the best car all year long.
“Then arguably it’s Kyle [Larson] or myself for P2 depending on the week. Fourth on back, it’s pretty much everybody else.
“Hopefully we can keep it that way through these next nine weeks and make it to the last one at Homestead.”
This year marks Busch’s 10th time qualifying for the playoffs and the fifth consecutive year.
Busch has won at nine of the ten tracks in the playoffs. He has never won at Charlotte Motor Speedway in NASCAR’s premier series.
