Harrison Rhodes will be gearing up to run some additional Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races in 2018, the driver confirmed to The Racing Experts.
Rhodes will compete in his fourth Cup Series race of the season and his career this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway in the No. 51 Chevrolet for Rick Ware Racing.
“There’s actually an announcement coming soon, but there’s a pretty decent number amount of races coming,” Rhodes said when asked how many races he would run at NASCAR’s top level this year.
While the 24-year-old driver didn’t reveal an exact number of races, Rhodes says it will be more than what would make him eligible for Rookie-of-the-Year contender status for next season.
Rhodes is coming off a season-high finish of 22nd last Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway and sits 36th overall in driver’s standings.
“I’m getting more comfortable for sure,” Rhodes said about driving the Cup Series cars.
Including Rhodes, the team has seen four drivers share driving duties in 2018 (Justin Marks, Cole Custer and Timmy Hill) with Rhodes making the most starts.
