Kasey Kahne, driver of the #83(former driver of the #9), was not going to leave RPM (Richard Petty Motorsports), but that all changed before Martinsville this October. After issues with the team, Kahne left RPM early to start as the driver of a Red Bull Racing Toyota for now. There have been many questions about Kahne’s future after he said he would leave RPM in 2011 and go to drive for Hendrick Motorsports in 2012, due to Mark Martin’s contract not ending until 2012. So where would he go? Would he take Budweiser with him? Would he take the number 9 too? So what will his number be? 82? 84? Something else?  Well if you guessed something else, you’re right. He will most likely have the number 4 to run in 2011 at Daytona in February, unless Morgan McClure Racing retains the rights to the number.

Paul Menard, driver of the #98 and Kahne’s former teammate at RPM, also let us know he would be leaving the RPM stable. He began searching for a ride, and finally found a ride as the 4th team  for RCR(Richard Childress Racing). He would take the sponsorship of Menard’s with him, for both Cup and Nationwide Series.  He will jump into the #27 Menards Chevy at Daytona in February, looking to take advantage of ECR (Earnhardt-Childress) Engines, like the ones he had raced before.
