David Swope joins The Racing Experts with vast knowledge of all forms of motorsports with a remarkable racing background.

Swope, who has been following NASCAR since the early 1980s, currently works for ESPN Radio Albuquerque and hosts a weekly motorsports show, the New Mexico Motorsports Report.

Swope is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, with a degree in Economics. Swope owned a family-run business in Albuquerque, New Mexico for over 24 years and managed New Mexico’s only asphalt racetrack, Motiva Speedway, before making the move to ESPN Radio Albuquerque.

The 48-year-old New Mexican is also a semi-retired local racecar driver. Swope captured a track championship with five wins in eight starts at Motiva Speedway in 2005, driving a ’73 Super Beetle. Swope’s racing career started at 14 in go-karts and has included many types of cars including a Formula Super Vee.

In his spare time, wope enjoys all things motorsports. His family is a priority and he likes spending time with them around the house.

Swope is looking forward to bringing his business expertise to The Racing Experts.
