LAS VEGAS—A 17th place effort Saturday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway keeps David Starr inside the top-ten in Xfinity Series driver standings.

The Zachry Group No. 44 piloted by Starr completed 198 of the scheduled 200 laps and left with 27 XFINITY points for a total of 83 and eighth in Championship Points.

Starr, optimistic post-race, stated, “we did the best we could with what we have.”

Race three for Starr’s first full-time season in the Xfinity Series did not start well, with a 31st starting position.

“Vegas is very fast and our Toyota Camry is a handful and not very good,” he said. “This car is not one of our newer cars. This is one that we ran last year. We are building new stuff and our new stuff is not ready yet.”

Starr battled through 6 cautions periods and an extensive 102 green flag period to post his second best effort of 2015 thus far.

A veteran of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Starr ranks third on the all-time career start list in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with 317 series starts.
