KANSAS CITY, Kan.—Another weekend of playoff racing is ahead of us. We will look at the upcoming weather for NASCAR and ARCA on track action. Looks like another good one folks!
Cool and comfortable temperatures, sunny skies, and only one day with a chance of rain should help us put on a good show each day at the Kansas Speedway.
Friday will be a fantastic and enjoyable fall day at the track. A cool start to our Hollywood Casino 400 race weekend, with breezy winds and warming up to the upper 70s by the afternoon.
Sunny to partly cloudy skies should warm us up for on track activity today. Catch the ARCA finale at 7 PM Central after sunset with a comfortable cool off to the mid 60s for tonight’s lows.
Be prepared with a light jacket or sweatshirt for the entire weekend, which will be especially good to have for these cool Kansas mornings and your night time festivities this weekend.
A few waves of energy will be passing through the Midwest and Plains States beginning Friday Night and continuing through Saturday Night, which will clear the air for a fantastic race on Sunday.
Showers and thunderstorms are still very common during the fall months in Kansas, as a breezy wind from the southwest will pull in some moisture in from the Gulf of Mexico. Saturday will provide our best chance for any significant rainfall.
Light rain showers are possible at any time throughout the day on Saturday, but we are confident that we should get the Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race in before a stronger line of showers and thunderstorms moves through the area by sunset.
Good thing that Kansas Speedway has lights!
Timing is everything, but as long as those prefrontal showers stay away from the speedway, Saturday shouldn’t be a total washout without a real surprise.
Pack the rain slicker just in case, as it could be a longer day if racing action does get interrupted due to rain. The storms after sunset on Saturday night could be locally strong, but the most significant impact will only be heavy rain and maybe some lightning. Take cover indoors as directed when strong storms reach your area!
After the line of storms passes, we will have significant clearing and even cooler October temperatures! Race day for the Monster Energy Cup Series looks like a great day for a good fall festival in Kansas.
Some morning cloud cover is possible, but clearing throughout the day will keep the sun overhead with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s and light cool winds from the northwest. I think we will take the cool, dry weather for race day anytime!
Hopefully your favorite driver can qualify for the next round of the playoffs on Sunday here in Kansas, and enjoy this fantastic fall weather!
