NASCAR suspends 6 crew members after Las Vegas

CONCORD, N.C. — NASCAR suspended six crew members after the NASCAR race weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch and Chase Briscoe will each be without two key crew members for the next two NASCAR Cup Series races.

Busch will lose jackman Joseph Moser and rear tire changer Shiloh Windsor while Briscoe will lose jackman Caleb Dirks and rear tire changer Daniel Smith for the March 23 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway and the March 30 race at Martinsville Speedway.

Nathan McBride and Adam Riley will fill in for Dirks and Smith, respectively. Meanwhile, Garrett Crall and Christopher Jackson will fill in for Moser and Windsor, respectively.

On lap 33 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Chase Briscoe lost his left-rear wheel after a green-flag pit stop. 81 laps later, on lap 114, Kyle Busch lost a right-rear wheel on the backstretch and spun.

Each driver lost two laps, in addition to the loss of crew members. While Briscoe came back to finish on the lead lap in 17th, Busch had extensive repairs after his incident and finished 33rd, 35 laps down.

NASCAR also suspended tire carrier Corbin Sklener and rear tire changer Josiah Wright for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.

Wright last worked on Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 RFK Racing team in the Cup Series race at Phoenix Raceway. Sklener worked on Clay Greenfield’s No. 95 GK Racing team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway.
