A broken record tied – Hemric earns 10th second-place finish

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Like a broken record, Daniel Hemric earned another second-place finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series during Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hemric led 55 laps and earned his 10th second-place finish – tying Dale Jarrett’s NASCAR Xfinity Series record for most second-place finishes before scoring a win.
Hemric pitted from the lead during a Lap 174 caution and was first off of pit road among the drivers who took four tires. However, teammates Harrison Burton and John Hunter Nemechek restarted in front of him on Lap 179. Burton earned the lead by staying out and Nemechek grabbed second after taking two tires.
Nemechek quickly passed Burton, who Hemric passed two laps later. However, Hemric was unable to run down Nemechek.
Hemric is two points behind the cutline heading into the Oct. 23 Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway. Hemric has finished second at Kansas twice, in October 2018 and 2020.
