“I was in the Peak Series, I think seven years ago, so it’s been a while. It feels good to be competitive, and feel like I’ve got my mojo back. I want everybody to know that the bright yellow day-glow car is here to fight.”
“Everybody always says you never give up, and we’re no different,” Busch said.
“I’m losing my breath, I’m that excited. This one means so much. It was just a lot better year and it was really cool to go back-to-back.”
Short of a “triple burnout”, there were three separate celebrations to conclude the 2019 season, including the Driver’s Champion, the Owner’s Champion, and the overall race winner.
Dubbed the Xfinity Series “Big 3” in 2019, the battle between them doesn’t end on Saturday night. All three will compete for the 2020 Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year honors.
“I don’t know that it does anything for my future. As odd as that may sound, for me, I tell you, I love where I’m at.”
“I think there’s a lot of mutual respect for the guys that are sitting up here, and if you’re going to go up there and work, you might as well have fun.”
Now officially more than halfway done with the seven race season, Bowlin leads the series standings with three races to go.
