Casey Mears to run final 3 NASCAR Cup races of 2025
STATESVILLE, N.C. — In his pursuit to reach 500 NASCAR Cup Series starts, Casey Mears is set to run the final three races of the 2025 season.
Mears will race the No. 66 S.I. Yachts Ford in the Oct. 19 race at Talladega Superspeedway, Oct. 26 at Martinsville Speedway and Nov. 2 in the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

Germain Motor Company owns S.I. Yachts, marking somewhat of a reunion for Mears — who used to drive for Bob Germain.
“We achieved significant success in NASCAR with two Truck Series Championships and Casey played a key role in the development of our Cup Series program,” Germain said. “I’m proud that the years he spent driving our No. 13 car accounted for many of his Cup starts, and I’m happy we’re partnering in his pursuit of hitting 500. Casey and I have remained close over the years and he was always one of our biggest supporters. He’s a great guy, and he’s always been genuine in how he lives his life, which is what I appreciate most.”
Mears returned to the Cup Series this year after not making a start since the 2019 Daytona 500. He raced for Garage 66 at Martinsville in March and at Daytona in August. He’s now just nine starts away from 500 starts and will be six away at the end of 2025.
“I’m excited we were able to put these three races together, and I appreciate the ongoing support from Bob Germain, S.I. Yachts, and Acrisure,” Mears said. “Given our close friendship, it’s touching that Bob is willing to invest in me after all these years. It shows his character and who he is as a person.”
If Mears can reach 500 Cup starts, he’ll become the 48th driver in series history to achieve that feat.
With the exception of 2023, Garage 66 has made at least one Cup start in every season since 2017. In 2017, Carl Long returned as a Cup owner after reaching an agreement over a $200,000 fine in 2009.
