Elliott finished eighth in the Food City 500 Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway, earning his first Top-10 finish in nine starts, dating back to last season.

Elliott’s streak of eight races without a Top-10 has happened twice, with the other time coming in 2016, his rookie year.

The 2020 series champion started the race fifth. Throughout the 500-lap race, Elliott led on two occasions for five laps, but failed to pick up stage points.

Elliott had the tenth-most points among the competition Sunday, and after five races, leaves Bristol sixth in points with an 42-point advantage over the playoff cutline.

The next race is scheduled for next Sunday, March 24 at Circuit of the Americas (Austin), where Elliott won in 2021.

  1. Way to go Chase!! So proud of you! Keep it up Buddy! YOU GOT THIS!! Great finish! I will be in Darlington South Carolina in May and hoping to get an autograph and see you win there! 🏁🎉🙏❤️

  2. I hope Chase gets back to racing like he needs too. I don’t know what’s on his mind but it’s interfering with his racing….he is my favorite driver……
