KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Sheldon Creed claimed a come-from-behind victory in Friday night’s ARCA Kansas 150 at Kansas Speedway.

Creed, who clinched the 2018 ARCA Racing Series championship with his participation in the opening practice, started on the outside pole, alongside Drew Herring. Both led early on before finding trouble.

Creed was leading on lap 46 when Kevin Hinckle hit the right side of Creed’s car on the frontstretch. The contact left Creed with significant damage to the left side of his car.

With under 40 laps to go, Herring spun after contact with Michael Self while racing for the lead. Herring fell a lap down but received the free pass late in the race. Herring finished eighth.

Creed came back to take the lead for the last time with 14 laps to go, from Michael Self, just before the eighth caution came out for Leilani Munter spinning and hitting the wall with two to go.

He would come back later on after repairs were made. Creed took the lead from Michael Self with 14 to go, just before Leilani Munter spun and hit the wall off turn two to bring out the eighth caution.

The rest of the top 10 was: Harrison Burton, Michael Self, Riley Herbst, Chase Purdy, Natalie Decker, Tyler Hill, Drew Herring, Zach Rolston, and Cole Glasson.
