Cleetus McFarland to make NOAPS debut with Richard Childress Racing
Garrett Mitchell is taking one step closer of someday completing his goal of racing in the Daytona 500.
Mitchell, known as “Cleetus McFarland” to his online audience, is scheduled to make his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut with Richard Childress Racing next month, the team announced Wednesday (March 4).
“To have the opportunity to make my NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut with a legendary race team like Richard Childress Racing is a dream come true,” Mitchell said in a press release.
The 30-year-old has competed in five ARCA Menards Series starts, posting two Top-10 finishes.
Mitchell made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut in February, completing five laps before a crash sidelined him to a 37th-place finish.
