Could Ty Gibbs’ first NASCAR Cup win come at Bristol?
The next stop for the NASCAR Cup Series is scheduled for Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 12. Could it be the sight of Ty Gibbs’ first win in NASCAR’s top series?

Statistically speaking, Bristol has been one of Gibbs’s strongest tracks.
In six NASCAR Cup races, Gibbs has posted two Top-5 finishes, four Top-10 finishes, and has led 440 of his 853 career laps led.
In the most-recent Bristol race in September, Gibbs led 201 laps before a 10th-place finish. On two other occasions, Gibbs has led triple-digit laps at the Tennessee racetrack.
Momentum, right now too, seems to be on the No. 54 team’s side.
After a 23rd in the Daytona 500 and an Atlanta crash to open the season 33rd in driver’s standings, Gibbs has pieced a stretch of five straight Top-10 finishes which includes three fourth-place finishes and four overall Top-5 finishes.

Currently, that streak is tied for Gibbs’ longest Top-10 consecutive streak in the series, matching the mark from a 2024 run.
Yet, the fourth-year Joe Gibbs Racing driver finds himself winless in his fourth-full time season with the team and in NASCAR’s top series.
By the numbers
Among active competition in the NASCAR Cup Series, Ty Gibbs has the most Top-5 finishes (21), Top-10 finishes (38), and laps led (853) among winless drivers in the series.

Gibbs is tied with Ryan Preece for most pole without a win (2).
Additionally, Gibbs currently has the second-most laps led among drivers in NASCAR Cup Series history who have never won a race.
Mike Skinner holds the record with 1,029 laps led.
However, drivers have led more laps before picking up their first NCS win.
Harry Gant holds the series record for most laps led before their first win (1,713) , followed by Sterling Marlin (1,351), Chase Elliott (1,025), Kasey Kahne (994), and Tony Stewart (889).
