Dale Earnhardt Jr. to race classic No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet again

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. is reuniting with Budweiser to bring the classic red No. 8 scheme back to the track later this year.

Earnhardt Jr. will drive a No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet in the Nov. 23 South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway. The scheme will feature the stylized No. 8 he made famous from 1999-2007.

“It is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser, and the No.8,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We’ve always supported each other over the years. It’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”

Earnhardt Jr. will return to the track with the paint scheme for more late model stock car races this year and in 2025.

“There are names that when mentioned, draw on the significance of their place in American history. Among them, Budweiser, and Earnhardt,” said Matt Davis, the vice president of partnerships at Anheuser-Busch. “This return to the racetrack alongside Dale with the Bud King of Beers paint scheme is another chapter in Anheuser-Busch’s long and storied sports history.”

Earnhardt Jr. earned 17 wins, 76 Top-5 finishes and 121 Top-10s while driving the red No. 8 Chevrolet in 291 NASCAR Cup Series starts. He finished Top-15 in points five times in eight seasons – Eighth in 2001, 11th in 2002, third in 2003, fifth in 2004, fifth in 2006. Then, in 2008, he joined Hendrick Motorsports.
