Dawson Sutton to make NASCAR debut at North Wilkesboro
CENTERVILLE, Tenn. — Rackley W.A.R. announced Tuesday that late-model stud Dawson Sutton will make his NASCAR debut next weekend at North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Sutton will race the No. 26 Chevrolet in the May 18 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at North Wilkesboro. No. 26 is also the number he runs for Rackley W.A.R. in late models.
“I have been super excited waiting to share this announcement that I’ll be making my NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut,” Sutton said. “I really want to thank all of my supporters, including Rackley Roofing Company, W.A.R. Shocks and Team Chevrolet. I’m also grateful for my parents. My dad has invested so much into me since I started racing two years ago, and my mom as well as she’s been with me every step of the way at racetracks all over the country.”
Sutton stepped into a racecar just two years ago, racing the U.S. Legends Cars Series nationally on asphalt and dirt. Under the direction of Team Hornaday and Joe Ryan Racecars, he picked up consistent wins and podium finishes.
“I’m so proud to see how far Dawson – aka Soup – has come in such a short time,” Hornaday said. “I was at his first legend car race. And to see how he has progressed from Legends to Late Models is amazing. He is very focused and wants to learn. And that means a lot if you want to have success in this sport. I will definitely be there to support him as he makes his Truck debut too. Go Soup!”
The next year – last year – he competed in 34 pro late model races with Rackley W.A.R. and won multiple times, including at Five Flags Speedway. He earned Rookie of the Year honors at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
Now, Sutton will get to race in NASCAR. Catch his debut in the Wright Brand 250 at North Wilkesboro next Saturday. The green flag drops just after 1:30 p.m. ET on FS1, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio and MRN.
