Denny Hamlin ties Bill Elliott in wins

Denny Hamlin and NASCAR champion Bill Elliott are now tied at 44 wins apiece on the NASCAR Cup Series all-time wins list.

Hamlin picked up his seventh win of the 2020 season with his victory in the Yellawood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday (Oct. 4th).

The two drivers are now tied for 18th all-time on the wins list.

Since the start of the season, Hamlin has passed Bobby Isaac (37 wins), Matt Kenseth (39), Tim Flock (39) and Mark Martin (40).

Hamlin ranks fourth with most wins among active competition, only behind Jimmie Johnson (83), Kevin Harvick (58) and Kyle Busch (56).

The next five drivers ahead of Hamlin and Elliott on the winst list are Buck Baker (46), Herb Thomas (48), Tony Stewart (49), Junior Johnson (50) and Ned Jarrett (50).

OUTLOOK
The next Cup Series race is scheduled for next Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course (ROVAL).
