Harrison Burton will not return to AM Racing in 2026
STATESVILLE, N.C. — AM Racing announced playoff driver Harrison Burton will not return to their NASCAR Xfinity Series team in 2026.

Burton confirmed the news after AM Racing made the announcement Wednesday on social media.
The driver and the team have both turned around this season, compared to 2024.
Wood Brothers Racing fired Harrison Burton over poor performance. Burton sat at the bottom of the full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver points standings until a win at Daytona locked him into the playoffs at the last minute.
Meanwhile, AM Racing finished 32nd in the regular season points standings after a lackluster tenure with Hailie Deegan and shuffling through drivers after her release.
AM Racing and Burton teamed up this season to make the 12-man Xfinity Series playoffs on their points position. That feat alone was remarkable enough that anything that came afterward was an addition to it.
AM Racing and Burton are set to each announce their future plans at a later date.
