Hill edges Love as RCR locks out Daytona front row

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Austin Hill narrowly outqualifies teammate Jesse Love for the United Rentals 300 at Daytona pole.

This is Austin Hill’s sixth career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole and Richard Childress Racing’s 19th front row lockout in the sereis.

Hill starts his weekend on the right foot as he will try for a fourth win at the spring Daytona event in the previous five years.

The front half of the top ten all qualified within a tenth of each other with Sheldon Creed and Corey Day matching their times.

Viking Motorsports struck a deal with Alpha Prime Racing and Caesar Bacarella to have DNQ’d driver Anthony Alfredo replace him in the No. 4 entry for the race.
