Justin Bonsignore leads NASCAR modifieds in marquee New Hampshire stop
The northeastern U.S. is getting a feast of NASCAR racing but the big event of the weekend may be the Whelen Modified Tour.

Justin Bonsignore will lead the Tour field to the green Saturday in the Mohegan Sun 100 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Sharing the front row is defending winner Anthony Nocella who, like Bonsignore, has one NHMS win. Nocella earned his first Tour win in this race last year.
Six-time Tour champion and four-time NHMS winner Doug Coby starts third, just ahead of three-time NHMS winner Ron Silk.
Silk has three wins in 2023. He leads the points by 14 points over Bonsignore, who has one win so far. Coby is third with a win, 39 points back, while Austin Beers is fourth with a win, 44 points back.
Beers rounds out the top five and will start fifth Saturday evening.
Each year, this race draws attention from drivers in other NASCAR series, such as Ryan Newman and Ryan Preece. The competition often outweighs other NASCAR series at NHMS with lead changes rivaling Talladega, Daytona and Atlanta.
NASCAR Cup Series driver Corey LaJoie is in on the fun this weekend. He starts sixth for the Saturday evening race.

Past NHMS winners Bobby Santos III (six wins), Chase Dowling (one win) and Woody Pitkat (one win) start 12th, 13th and 23rd.
This Saturday’s Mohegan Sun 100 has 30 drivers in the field – five more than last year. It’s also the fifth time in nine races this season where 28 or more drivers are racing.
The Mohegan Sun 100 goes green Saturday on FloRacing just after 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT.
