HOMESTEAD, Fla. — Matt Kenseth finished seventh (ISM Raceway) and sixth (Homestead-Miami Speedway) in his final two confirmed starts in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series—and the driver said he is happy with the results.

“This was probably the most fun weekend I’ve had all year, to be totally honest with you,” Kenseth said to The Racing Experts about his top-10 run in the Ford EcoBoost 400 on Sunday. “It went smooth, we had a plan, I had a lot of fun this weekend. Great way to finish the season.”

Kenseth drove the No. 6 Ford for Roush Fenway Racing in 15 races in 2018, posting two top-10 finishes and earning a Stage 2 win at Indianapolis.

The 46-year-old driver split driving duties with Trevor Bayne starting at the Kansas Speedway night race in May.

Kenseth, the 2003 Cup Series Champion, racked up 39 total wins in the series, tied for 20th on the all-time wins list with Tim Flock.

As for if Kenseth would be interested in a Driver Analyst role with a television or radio network:

“Only if I’m going broke,” Kenseth said.

If Homestead marks Kenseth’s final start in NASCAR’s premier series, he will retire with 665 total career starts.
