Kyle Larson to attempt the Indianapolis 500 in 2024
Kyle Larson announced Thursday he will attempt to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 in 2024.
The Arrow McLaren INDYCAR Team announced Larson will try to qualify for the famed 500-mile race as one of their entrants in 2024.
Larson’s entry will be co-owned by Rick Hendrick and sponsored by HendrickCars.com.
The move will come in 2023, not 2024, likely to let Larson get comfortable with an INDYCAR vehicle. Larson has never made a start in the NTT INDYCAR Series.
Larson is set to become the first driver to The Double – the Indy 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day – since Kurt Busch in 2014.

A Twin Valley, MN, native, Fjeld became a motorsports fan at just three years old (first race was the 2002 Pennsylvania 500). He worked as a contributor and writer for TRE from 2010-18. Currently, he resides in Albuquerque, N.M., where he works for KOB 4, an NBC station. He works as a digital producer and does on-air reports.
