Marco Andretti to make NASCAR return at Mid-Ohio
CONCORD, N.C. — Marco Andretti will return to NASCAR competition this Saturday when the Craftsman Truck Series goes to Mid-Ohio.
Andretti will drive Spire Motorsports’ No. 7 Chevrolet in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
The third-generation racer made his NASCAR debut last October in the Xfinity Series at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. He started 30th in Big Machine Racing’s No. 48 Chevrolet but finished 36th after crashing on lap 47.
This will be Andretti’s first Truck Series start.
“I can’t wait to get my feet wet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. I’m grateful for Group 1001 and Spire Motorsports for making this happen. I have a lot of laps in an Indy car around Mid-Ohio. It’s going to be a bit different but a lot of fun. The Cup Series’ guys I have spoken to said I will love it,” Andretti said.

Andretti’s return comes as sponsor Gainbridge signed a multi-year deal with Spire.
