NASCAR 2025: Who’s leading the laps?

We’re a quarter-mark through the NASCAR Cup Series season after the Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway before the Easter break.

Through the first nine races, five different racers have won a points-awarding event, with three of them winning multiple times. 

Collectively, 29 different drivers have lead at least one lap this year, with nine eclipsing at least 100 laps led.

Currently, the top-three lap leaders on this list have won in 2025.

No. 10 Bubba Wallace (98 laps led)

Wallace has led laps in four races this year with a season-high of 56 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in March.

No. 9 Alex Bowman (107 laps led)

Bowman has led laps in six races this year, including closing laps and 43 total in his runner-up finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

No. 8 Josh Berry (116 laps led, 1 win)

Berry has led in four races this year, starting with 56 laps led at Atlanta and three weeks later in Las Vegas to capture his first career victory.

No. 7 Christopher Bell (139 laps led, 3 wins)

Bell, who opened the season with three consecutive victories following the Daytona 500, has led laps in four races this year, with 105 of the laps coming at his victory at Phoenix Raceway in March.

Cindric has led laps in four races, including the most among the competition (59) in the season-opening Daytona 500.

Blaney has led laps in five races, including when he led the most at Homestead-Miami (124) before an engine issues ended his race prematurely.

Logano has led laps in five races, including the most among the field at Atlanta in February (83), but has yet to post a Top-5 finish in 2025.

No. 3 Denny Hamlin (308 laps led, 3 wins)

Hamlin has led in five races this year, but 274 of his laps led came from his dominating Martinsville victory in March.

No. 2 William Byron (354 laps led, 1 win)

Byron has led laps in seven races this year, including in each of the first six. The bulk of his laps led came from Darlington in April, where he led the opening 243 laps.

No. 1 Kyle Larson (503 laps led, 2 wins)

Kyle Larson, who led the competition in most laps led in 2024, is again atop the most laps led column with 503 total laps led. Larson has led laps in four races this year, but 411 of those laps came in his dominating win at Bristol.
