NASCAR Awards to move to Scottsdale for 2025

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — NASCAR is moving its annual year-end awards banquet to Scottsdale, Arizona, immediately after Championship Weekend in 2025.

The NASCAR Awards ceremony and banquet will take place Nov. 4, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The ceremonies will honor the champions in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

The NASCAR Channel will livestream the festivities Nov. 4, starting at 6 p.m. ET.

Last year’s ceremonies took place in Charlotte – weeks after NASCAR Championship Weekend. This year’s ceremonies are in the same metropolitan area as Championship Weekend and just two days after the weekend wraps up.

NASCAR will host a celebration Nov. 21 in Charlotte for the NASCAR’s regional and international series champions:

  • ARCA Menards Series
  • ARCA Menards Series East
  • ARCA Menards Series West
  • NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
  • NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series
  • NASCAR Brasil Series
  • NASCAR Canada Series
  • NASCAR Mexico Series
  • NASCAR Whelen Euro Series

History of the NASCAR awards banquet

From 1981 to 2008, NASCAR held a formal ceremony in New York City. Las Vegas became the host city in 2009 until 2019 when it moved to Nashville.

The awards ceremony was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, last year. The awards ceremony took place in New York until 2009 when it moved to Las Vegas. After a 10-year run in the Sin City, the ceremony moved to Nashville in 2019. The banquet remained in Nashville until 2024 when it moved to Charlotte.

A Twin Valley, MN, native, Fjeld became a motorsports fan at just three years old (first race was the 2002 Pennsylvania 500). He worked as a contributor and writer for TRE from 2010-18. He became the co-owner and managing editor in 2023 and has guided the site to massive growth in that time.

Fjeld has covered a wide array of stories and moments over the years, including Kevin Harvick's final Cup Series season, the first NASCAR national series disqualification in over 50 years, Shane van Gisbergen's stunning win in Chicago and the first Cup Series race at Road America in 66 years – as well as up-and-coming drivers' stories and stories from inside the sport, like the tech it takes for Hendrick Motorsports to remain a top-tier team.

Currently, he resides in Albuquerque, N.M., where he works for KOB 4, an NBC station. He works as a digital producer and does on-air reports. He loves spending time with friends and family, playing and listening to music, exploring new places, being outdoors, reading books and writing among other activities.
