Ross Chastain should continue to drive the No. 15 entry for Premium Motorsports in the Cup Series for the rest of the season, the driver said to The Racing Experts.

“I missed the Daytona 500 and I missed Sonoma, and the rest, I should be in,” Chastain said. “…In some form or fashion, I’ll be on track for Premium.”

In 23 Cup Series races this season, Chastain highest finish is an 18th-place effort at Texas Motor Speedway in April. All of Chastain’s career start in Cup Series (25)  have come from behind-the-wheel of a Premium Motorsports entry.

Chastain collects points in the Xfinity Series and currently holds a playoff-eligible position (12th) in that series with two races before the playoff grid is set.

The Florida native said driving in both series on the same weekend has its advantages and disadvantages.

“Sometimes I overdrive the Xfinity car, and crash, and too confident, so I’ve had to reel that back and take what the car will give me,” Chastain said. “I know guys say that all the time, but it really is just like ‘you can’t go in the corner that fast, you have to slow down.’”

Chastain piloted the No. 42 entry for Chip Ganassi Racing in Xfinity, won the pole and led 90 laps in last week’s race at Darlington Raceway. The 25-year-old said it is a weekend that will stand out to him in the years to come.

“It will stand out 30 years from now more than a lot of them will,” Chastain said.
