Ryan Preece grabs fourth top-10 of 2025 at Kansas

Prior to his disqualification from his second place run at Talladega, Ryan Preece said he felt like the No. 60 team was creeping towards being a threat on every type of racetrack. Sundayโ€™s AdventHealth 400 proved Preece right.ย

Preece finished seventh at Jensas Speedway after starting in 30th, and it didnโ€™t take him long to make his way to the front. It was a good points day for the No.60 team, finishing eighth in stage one and 10th in stage two, totaling 34 points on the day.

โ€œI thought we did a really good job in the first stage, and we had a really good car that was able to stay up front for most of the day,โ€ย Preeceย said in a press release. โ€œOnce we put everything together, weโ€™re going to be really good.โ€ย

It was a very good day for RFK Racing overall, even with Brad Keselowskiโ€™s 37th place DNF.

Keselowski was charging towards the leader Chase Elliott after passing eventual race winner Kyle Larson for third when he blew a tire in turn one with 73 laps to go.

It was a brutal break for the RFK Racing team co-owner who really needed a good run and will likely require a win to get into the playoffs.ย

Chris Buescher finished one spot behind Preece in eighth after losing last yearโ€™s AdventHealth 400 in the closest finish in NASCAR history.

As for Preece, he leaves Kansas as the first car out of the playoffs if the season ended today, currently sitting -7 to the cutline behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Every single point will be crucial for the No.60 team from now till the end of the regular season, keeping the car clean and avoiding DNFโ€™s will be big for them.

Preece is well on his way to a career best in terms of Top-10 finishes, he only needs one more to match his single season career high of five. If Preece can maintain the current speed, there are plenty of points and chances for wins coming up.ย

Three of his Top-10 finishes so far have come at intermediates: Las Vegas, Homestead and Kansas. His other came at Martinsville, so his reputation of being a superspeedway guy has certainly evolved with the move to RFK Racing.
