Ryan Sieg in for suspended Sam Mayer at Phoenix
CONCORD, N.C. — Ryan Sieg will race for Haas Factory Team at Phoenix Raceway after NASCAR suspended Sam Mayer.

Sieg will race Haas Factory Team’s No. 41 Ford in the Nov. 1 NASCAR Xfinity Series season finale at Phoenix Raceway.
Mayer will miss the race after NASCAR suspended him for intentionally wrecking Jeb Burton after taking the checkered flag at Martinsville Speedway. The wreck happened after the two drivers made contact throughout the race. Mayer was also eliminated from the playoffs as a result of his finish in the race.
Team owner Jordan Anderson personally confronted the 22-year-old driver – who then doubled down on the incident with comments describing Burton as “not having the it factor but the s-it factor.”
With Mayer, Sieg will get the biggest opportunity of his Xfinity Series career that will eclipse 400 starts Saturday.
In 399 starts with his family-owned RSS Racing team, Sieg has had five second-place finishes. He finished second most recently at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in October of last year – and most notably at Texas Motor Speedway where he lost by a mere 0.002 seconds in April of last year.
Earlier this season, Sieg leg 77 of 256 laps at Rockingham Speedway before getting in an incident that relegated him to an 18th-place finish. In all, he has led 107 laps this season – a career-high for him.
Ryan Sieg’s brother, Kyle Sieg, will drive the No. 39 Ford for RSS Racing at Phoenix.
