After 18 races, 2,355 laps, and 240 days since the drop of the green flag in Daytona Beach, Florida, the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series Championship was ultimately decided in the last corner on the last lap at the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Zalenski entered the night in a must-win situation to advance to the Championship Four at Homestead-Miami Speedway in just over two weeks, so he led every lap and won by over eight seconds.
“I don’t know how we did it, but after coming close so many times, having good runs that just haven’t gone our way, to finally win, everyone, all the people that supported me… it feels good to finally win.”
With only a few races left before the 2019 eNASCAR Peak Antifreeze iRacing Series playoffs, the cutoff for the eight-driver championship battle has tensions higher than ever leaving Pocono Raceway.
“The setup was on rails, all night. We struggled a little bit in the first run, but we got it fixed up after pit stops.”
“We worked our way to the front, and man, it was just a rocket ship.”
“I didn’t have huge hopes coming into this race, I felt like we were a little bit off in testing, but I guess I was just being crazy because the car was amazing.”
