Three NASCAR Cup champions to join FOX booth at Darlington

DOVER, DEL. — FOX announced Sunday at Dover three NASCAR Hall of Famers will join the booth for a stage of the May 8 NASCAR Cup Series throwback Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
Seven-time champion Richard Petty, 1988 champion Bill Elliott and 2000 champion Bobby Labonte will take over the booth for a stage.
Petty previously called races for CBS and TBS in 1994 and 1995 – after retiring in 1992. Petty was a part of the TBS booth that called the 1995 Coca-Cola 600 when Labonte earned his first NASCAR Cup Series win.
Labonte has served as a studio analyst for FOX since 2017. Previously he held the same role with NBC from 2014 to 2016.
Elliott has not served in a TV role to the same capacity as Petty and Labonte. He was a part of the 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame class.
Petty was inducted into the Hall as a part of the inaugural 2010 class, while Labonte was inducted as a part of the 2020 class.
The trio of champions is expected to take over the booth for stage two of the Goodyear 400 at Darlington (3:30 p.m. ET; TV: FS1; Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90).
