Gilliland, who has been driving for the NASCAR Cup Series team since 2022, had piloted the No. 38 entry for the team alongside former teammate and FRM anchor driver Michael McDowell.

Additionally, Love’s Travel Stops, a partner with the team since 2015, will continue to sponsor the No. 34 Ford.

“I do not take this next step lightly,” Gilliland said in a news release. “I have seen the rise of the team and the new level of expectations. It is an honor that Love’s is putting their trust in me to continue to grow this team and compete for wins and get into the playoffs. I am gracious for this opportunity and look forward to 2025.”

In three seasons, Gilliland has earned one Top-5 finish, 10 Top-10 finishes, 141 laps led, and a career-high of 22nd in points in 2024.

Gilliland’s crew chief and other sponsors will be announced at a later date.

The team has yet to announce the car numbers for its other two rides, with Noah Gragson racing for the team and another to-be-announced driver.

FRM and 23XI Racing are currently embroiled in a lawsuit against NASCAR, placing the acquisition of a charter from the now-defunct Stewart-Haas Racing in limbo for one of their charter, as well as the future of the two charters each team owned under the current charter agreement that expired at the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR season.

Earlier this week, the team’s attorney, Jeffrey Kessler, said 23XI and FRM will be able to race as open teams next year.
