Ty Gibbs nets first Top-5 of 2025
Ty Gibbs earned his highest finish of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, placing third Sunday in the Food City 500.

Gibbs’ Top-5 effort at Bristol Motor Speedway marked the racer’s first Cup Series Top-5 finish since Kansas Speedway in September last year, 15 races ago.
“It was a good day,” Gibbs said. “I was kind of managing the race and figuring out the way we needed to be. It was fun. I had a blast. Weโve definitely made an improvement.”
Gibbs started the race sixth, finishing Stage 1 ninth and Stage 2 seventh, collecting six stage points.
The 22-year-old driver has now posted two consecutive Top-10 finishes, placing ninth last week at Darlington. Gibbs’ last three races have been the driver’s highest result of the season to that point.
Opening the season with a 16th-place showing at the Daytona 500, Gibbs did not finish two of the next five races, and his highest finish over that span was a 22nd at Las Vegas.
Before the last three races, Gibbs was ranked 34th in points. Gibbs is now ranked 20th in points, 29 points behind the playoff cutline entering the off-week for Easter.
Gibbs has never won a Cup Series race, but has won 2 poles, 13 Top-5 finishes, 25 Top-10 finishes and 531 laps led across his premier series career thus far.
